The beginners’ class is suitable for those with little or no experience in bellydance. Some more experienced ladies also attend to help out, go over the basics and just to enjoy the class. I take time to explain and break down the moves in detail. Each class begins with a warm up using gentle stretching exercises to prepare your body for the moves. You will learn the variations of soft flowing moves in contrast with the sharper hip moves and energetic shimmies. There is an introduction to new movements each week until you know all the basics. We also enjoy learning choreographed dances together step–by–step, and the music is upbeat and enjoyable. Bellydance is usually performed in bare feet. Come wearing something loose and comfortable, perhaps with a scarf to tie around your hips. |
