Is Belly Dance Suitable For Me?

Bellydance is suitable for ladies of all ages, shapes, sizes, ability and fitness levels. Bellydance is fun to learn and a wonderful way to become fitter, improve your figure, and shimmy away that excess weight.

What you can expect to Learn

We start the class with gentle stretching and isolation drills to prepare the body for the dance moves ahead. We then continue our warm up with our fun filled belly dance cardio to keep you fit and toned! This will help you to keep in top shape as it not only burns calories but it also stimulates the digestive system and increases metabolism and brings many benefits to the body.

We will then take you through the basics of the technique and combinations needed to master the choreography.  There will be plenty of weekly drills of movements, technique and combinations before piecing together this beautiful dance.

By the end of the course you will have completed the full choreography and we will also teach you how to deliver the dance with performance tips and style! As always you will receive handouts on the dance choreography to help you along on the way!

There will also be the opportunity for any ambitious ladies to perform the dance with their Sitara Dance Instructor Alix at our next Shimmy-Licious show on Friday 24th September!

What Shall I Wear?

Belly dance is usually performed in bare feet. Come wearing something loose and comfortable, perhaps with a scarf to tie around your hips. You can purchase coin hip scarves in class at a reasonable price. We look forward to welcoming you on this exciting journey as you master this skilled and beautiful ancient art form.

What If I Can't Make Monday Evenings!
