Our stars for the evening included the following:

Spirit of the Bosphorus River by Sabina & Cate
Sabina and Cate, who both joined  the the Eastern Roses dance troupe in January 2007, perform to a piece created by Sabina’s sister in Germany
a clever choreography to hypnotic, upbeat drum music.

Jasmine
With her background in ballet, fun loving, glamorous and sexy Jasmine danced her very first bellydance performance to Tarkan’s Kiss Kiss at our Christmas Party back in 2003 . Since then she has performed regularly at many Haflas and other events and is now an experienced performer who dances from within. Her style is a fusion of Turkish and Egyptian with a hint of Spanish. She is passionate about bellydance and give her audience refreshing, heart warming and memorable performances. Jasmine is beautifully at ease with the music and loves both choreography and improvisation to fast or slow music.

Hot or Not by Shella & Shirley-Anne
A Caribbean/African belly dance fusion mainly choreographed by Shafeek Ibrahim with a little of their own thrown in for good measure. Attitude all their own! Shella has been dancing with Sitara as a member of the Eastern Roses since 2003, while Shirley-Anne has been attending classes with Sitara in Chelmsford since 2005.

Zekeriyat by Karen, Lyndsey and Roberta
Reprising the beautiful number they performed at the February Shimmy-Licious. Full of Eastern promise, this stunning, upbeat and uplifting choreography was a year in the making! All three ladies are experienced performers with their own distinctive style, and this gorgeous dance embodies their enthusiasm and love for the dance. Beautifully choreographed, delightfully presented …enjoy!

Drum Solo by Shella
Another of Shella's scintillating drum solos.

Valerie Herron
Valerie, a rhythmic gymnast, dances a gorgeous cabaret-style number to entertain you all.

Black & Gold by Gerry-Rae
Gerry-Rae performs with Isis wings to Sam Sparro's Black & Gold.

Double Veil by Sitara and the Eastern Roses
